Shira Lahat provides ongoing legal advice, mainly to corporations, on all aspects of labor law, supporting clients in day-to-day issues, such as new employee recruitment, disputes with employees, employment terms and conditions, disciplinary issues, compensation and retirement packages, HR policies and employment termination, as well in matters related to sexual harassment, equal opportunities in the workplace, and workplace safety.
Shira also drafts a wide range of agreements, including employment, consulting and services, manpower, non-disclosure, confidentiality, IP rights, and separation agreements. She also has expertise in equity-based employee incentive plans and executive compensation.
In addition, Shira advises clients on labor law issues that arise in complex commercial reorganizations and reductions in force (RIFs). This includes guiding managers in downsizing procedures and supporting clients once the process has been completed. Shira is also experienced in mergers and acquisitions, including in conducting due diligence, assessing legal risks, drafting employment provisions in transaction documents, advising on aspects relating to change of employers, and preparing retention agreements.
Shira regularly appears before regional and national labor courts, as well as representing clients in procedures and hearings conducted by governmental authorities, such as applications for the termination of protected employees, and requests for special work permits.
Shira has special expertise in issues of privacy in the workplace, for example, in regard to email and other employee monitoring, data collection and the transfer of private information. She also trains clients on topics ranging from sexual harassment prevention and recruiting procedures, to equal opportunity, termination and hearing procedures.

Shira manages a blog (in Hebrew) about labor and employment issues and is a member of the employment forum of the Israel Bar Association. In addition, she regularly publishes articles and op-eds in The Marker (Israel’s leading business newspaper) and other Israeli publications. She co-wrote the outsourcing chapter in Getting the Deal Through; the employment & labor law chapter in the International Comparative Legal Guide; and a chapter in Hiring the Best Qualified & Most Talented Employees: Handbook on Global Recruiting, Screening, Testing and Interviewing Criteria.
Shira joined the firm in 2007 and became a partner in 2013.
