Sagi Schiff specializes in civil and commercial litigation, with a particular emphasis on class action and derivative lawsuits. Throughout his career, Sagi Schiff has represented a variety of corporations, both Israeli and foreign, in courts and in arbitration. He has extensive expertise in various fields including technology, insurance, banking, communications, finance, manufacturing, real estate, environmental quality, and more.

Sagi Schiff has a specialized focus on privacy and data protection law. In this capacity, he has defended both Israeli and foreign clients in motions for class action certification, which raise innovative issues and require understanding in foreign law and advanced technology.

Sagi Schiff possesses extensive experience at all stages of class action lawsuits, including negotiation processes and mediation. He also has a broad experience in representing “regular” civil litigation processes. As part of this, he notably represented the pension fund of “Egged” members in a civil lawsuit against “Egged”, which culminated in a precedent-setting settlement amounting to hundreds of millions of shekels.

Sagi Schiff joined the firm as an attorney in 2010 and became a partner in 2019. Before joining the firm, Sagi Schiff worked as an trainee and advocate in the firm of Dr. J. Weinroth & Co.

Sagi Schiff graduated with honors with a Bachelor’s degree in Law from Bar-Ilan University in 2007. In 2014, Sagi completed his Master of Laws degree with distinction from University College London.

  • Defending Google in a motion for class action certification for breach of privacy laws due to the use of email content in the Gmail service for advertising purposes (Case 47224-12-16 Vayman vs. Google Inc).
  • Defending Google in a motion for class action certification for breaching privacy laws by “planting” third-party cookies in the browsers of Apple users (Case 63902-12-17 Baram vs. Google LLC; Appeal 4243/19 Google LLC vs. Baram).
  • Defending the LGBTQ+ social network application Grindr’s operator in a motion for class action certification for a breach of privacy laws in the use of the “Grindr” application.
  • Defending Google in a motion for class action certification for privacy breaches when purchasing apps, and due to the lack of registration of a database in the Israeli Databases registry and for not obtaining informed consent for the use of users’ data (Case 52768-07-15 Eshel vs. Google LLC; Appeal 8160/20 Google LLC vs. Eshel).
  • Defending Fujitsu Ltd in a motion for class action certification for violation of competition laws in the capacitors market (Case 62701-07-17).
  • Defending of Mr. Shlomo Eliyahu, the controlling shareholder of Migdal Insurance Company (one of the largest in Israel), in motion for the approval of filing a derivative action against him.
  • Defending Azorim Investment and Building Development Ltd and Azorim Construction (1965) Ltd, a large real estate developer, in a civil action related to land that was managed by the General Custodian (Case 7309-09-17 Levin vs. Azorim Investment and Building Development Ltd (2023).
  • Defending of Phoenix Company and its directors in a motion for the approval of filing of a derivative action against the directors for “backdating” of guaranteed return insurance policies (Case 31302-06-21 Turgeman vs. Phoenix Holdings Ltd (2023).

  • Representing the Insurance Companies Association as an amicus curiae in a re-hearing proceedings of a civil appeal at the Supreme Court (Case 5325/19 Hakshara Insurance vs. Pickaly (2021).
